Final Blog Post : (

Daniel Tosh is a comedian and the host of one of the most popular comedy shows on television, Tosh.O. The show consists of Tosh standing in front of a live audience showcasing and giving commentary on viral videos. The videos are funny, strange, and often shocking. The videos are paired well with Tosh’s offbeat and often crude humor.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, a website that tells you how much a certain celebrity is worth, Daniel Tosh makes $6.5 million. Comedy Central has seen the shows ratings go up each season. What makes the show so popular? Is it Daniel Tosh, the videos themselves, or something else? The show is extremely popular among adults 18-34, says An Article on CNBC.com. They claim that one of the main reasons why the show became so popular is the social media and marketing efforts by Daniel Tosh, and Comedy Central. The article talks about Daniel’s Blog and how it is the 3rd most popular digital sites for the station. This example of social media outreach is one of the many ways that Daniel connects with his fans over the Internet, and could explain the popularity of Tosh.0. Here is a screen cast(broken into 2 videos) that focuses on Daniel Tosh’s website, and goes into detail on the various types of social media he uses to gain and keep fans.

Daniel Tosh mentions his blog, and tells viewers to add him on Facebook and Twitter in every episode. He encourages fans to live chat with him during the show. The show also shows viewer videos, comments, and other social material on the show. An article by Ignitesocialmedia.com also believes that the social media networking has benefited the show. They mention the fact that the outreach of the social media networking isn’t the same old heads-up, simply letting you know the show is on. They talk about the content that he shares with his fans that is never aired on television and how this adds to more buzz generated in the online arena. They must be right; 5.5 million people follow Tosh on Twitter. His Facebook is liked by almost 8 million people on Facebook! When you search Tosh.O on Youtube you find the Results, tons of videos containing millions of hits.
Twitter is the most common form of communication that Tosh has with his fans. He will read their tweets on air, and also reply back to them often in a humorous way. Here is a screen cast demonstration oh how to setup your own twitter account, and also how to add Daniel Tosh as a friend, or in Twitter language, "follow him."

In conclusion, Daniel Tosh has been successful in creating a social media marketing strategy that engages his fan base, and gives them something valuable. This has caused his popularity to skyrocket, much like a viral video. I predict that in the future, more shows similar to Tosh.O will pop up, other then the ones which already have such as Rob Drydek's Fantasy Factory. This show is almost an exact replica of Tosh.O. (Here you can read about the man in charge of social networking for Fantasy Factory, and the activities he is involved in such as partnering up with a clothing line and teaming up with musical talent.) As society moves more and more into the digital age, you will continue to see the same type of behavior taking over the television airwaves; a combination of media such as television, social media sites, video uploading communities, and more. Since Tosh.O is the first show to spearhead this type of marketing, I predict that the show will only continue to be successful.
Thanks for reading.

Sample Screencast

Hello readers, I am back with a new post about screencasts. The video above is an example of a screencast that I have found to be very useful. The video shows the viewer how to use the video editing software called Final Cut Pro. The author does a great job of walking beginners through the steps on how to capture footage off of a camera or storage device, into the editing software. A screencast makes this task alot easier, due to the fact that Final Cut Pro is a pretty complicated software to learn on your own. The screencast makes it possible for the viewer to actually see what steps need to be taken in order to capture footage. This would almost be impossible to try and explain just using audio. Enjoy the video, and I hope you learn some about basic video editing!

B.L.O.G.

What's happenin' ya'll? Time for another educational blog post. This blog post is dedicated to my Digital Social Media and Society class. This blog post is also required for the class. : )

Anyways... I created a Facebook business page for the company John Maxwell Construction Inc. My stepdad is the founder and owner of the company, and he has yet to break out into the social media realm. I figured that I would kill two birds with one stone; help him out with a Facebook page, while I get an A(+) on this project.

On a personal note, to all my fans out there, thank you for your continued support with this blog. You all mean so much to me.

My favorite Youtube Video

Hello virtual friends. Time for a new blog. Today i would like to share with everyone one of my favorite Youtube Videos. The video is a compilation of what are known as 'Fails.' Fails on Youtube are recorded acts or events that are considered to be embarrassing, or unsuccesful. Some of the most popular videos on Youtube are fails. This video is one of my favorites because it takes a lot of fails and compiles them into one entertaining montage. Check back soon for a new blog. Enjoy : )

Numero II

Hi again. Today i would like to share with you all my favorite website, StumbleUpon. This website takes the best pictures, videos, news articles, blogs and more from the web and compiles it into one database. Videos are compiled from sites like Youtube and Vimeo. You are able to access content that is relevant to your interests which can range from psychology to beer. You can give content a thumbs up or thumbs down to communicate with the site if you like or dislike certain content. If you love online content and are usually the first one of your friends to find a new hilarious video or picture, this site was made for you. But be careful, this site makes it extremely convenient to waste hours of your time. Here is one of literally thousands of cool videos I have found through the site. Enjoy : )
